The time is finally here! Join us at The Greek Larder this Saturday (28th) from 6pm for our first installment of the live music series from the London Greek Collective!
They’re back from a successful set at the London Greek Wine Festival in October (the crowds loved it!), with the band drawing on Greek roots as well as music from other areas of the South Balkans to produce a vibrant musical mash with a contemporary twist. Get ready to experience music that has unbelievable traditional diversity and wealth in a way that is engaging, jazzy and dynamic! Do not expect versions of ‘Zorba’ and do not bring plates to break (save that for another time)
The group is led by guitarist, singer & composer Pavlos Melas, who has toured worldwide and is widely known for his contribution to traditional Greek music in London. BBC Radio 3 loves London Greek Collective – and we know you will too!
Pavlos is joint by Nikos Kyrios, a classical violin performer & conductor (who has recorded and performed around Greece, Europe & America), plus Bouzouki player Spyros Bolovinis, who specialises in Rebetika, the urban folk music of Greece.
There are also special guests for the evening – Vangelitsa Giamaiou on vocals & Konstantinos Glynos on Kanun (that’s a string instrument to you and me!)
Enjoy dishes from our new menu (our Hen pheasant with slow braised baby onions, cardamom & grape molasses is to die for!) or share classic Meze platters with your friends whilst sipping on some of Theodore’s “Voodoo Juice” – the first rose from Oikonomou. Our usual usual à la carte menus and full wine list will be available so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
This is an evening not to be missed! You can book a table online or call us on 020 3780 2999. #YAMAS!
