The London Greek Wine Festival - 2nd to 4th October 2015

... THREE DAY CELEBRATION OF GREAT FOOD AND GREEK WINE

Founded by Theodore Kyriakou the festival will raise awareness of Greek wines and their producers at The Greek Larder and local venues. It will be a great opportunity to experience and learn about the wonderful range of Greek wines now available. There will be tutored wine tastings, food and wine pairing, talks & debates, an exhibition, great food and much more.

Over the coming weeks we will be revealing our calendar of events. For now, please keep the dates in your diary and follow #londongreekwinefestival to join us in this wonderful celebration of the wines of Greece and their amazing producers.

We are delighted to welcome Jancis Robinson and Julia Harding as our festival Ambassadors ...

Jancis Robinson, Master of Wine - Festival Ambassador

Described by Decanter magazine as 'the most respected wine critic and journalist in the world', Jancis writes daily for JancisRobinson.com (voted first-ever Wine Website of the Year in the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers Awards 2010), weekly for The Financial Times, and bi-monthly for a column that is syndicated around the world. She is also editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine, co-author with Hugh Johnson of The World Atlas of Wine and co-author of Wine Grapes - a complete guide to 1,368 vine varieties, including their origins and flavours.

An award-winning TV presenter, she travels all over the world to conduct wine events and act as a wine judge. In 1984 she was the first person outside the wine trade to pass the rigorous Master of Wine exams and in 2003 she was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen, on whose cellar she now advises.

She loves and lives for wine in all its glorious diversity, generally favouring balance and subtlety over sheer mass.

Julia Harding, Master of Wine - Festival Ambassador

A linguist who came top of the Master of Wine exams in 2004, Julia has been Jancis Robinson's full-time assistant and associate palate since 2005. She has a keen interest in Greek wine and was co-author of Wine Grapes, published in 2012 and winner of every major book award as well as the Greek Wine Industry Award 2015 for its 'invaluable contribution to Greek wine'.

Be part of The London Greek Wine Festival

It will be a great opportunity for wholesalers, producers and local businesses to share in promotional activities, build their following and show what wonderful products they have.

As the festival grows year on year the plan is to increase the diversity and scale of it and, most importantly, share the growth of people enjoying excellent Greek wine.

We will be supporting local and Greek charities too (to be announced) so that these communities can also benefit.
